Lok Sabha Elections- Cash worth Rs 7.24 crore seized in Haryana

Enforcement agencies continuously active during Lok Sabha elections
So far, drugs, cash and valuables worth Rs 37.29 crore have been seized
This is the biggest seizure since the 2014 assembly elections

In order to conduct the Lok Sabha General Elections 2024 in Haryana in a fair, free, and transparent manner, the Election Commission along with other enforcement agencies continuously kept a strict vigil on the movement of illicit liquor, drugs, and cash. Till now cash amount of Rs 7.24 crore has been seized. Apart from this, illicit liquor, drugs, and valuables worth Rs 30.05 crore have also been seized. Notably, this figure is much more than the items seized in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections of 2014 and 2019.
Sharing more information in this regard, Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Agarwal said that the election preparations of Lok Sabha General Election 2024 are still going on and this time till now Rs 7.24 crore in cash, 3,87,332.77 liters of illicit liquor worth Rs 12.94 lakh, Narcotics worth Rs 12.55 crore have been seized. Valuables worth Rs 1.80 crore, and other items worth Rs 2.76 crore have been seized.
He said that in the 2014 assembly elections, a total of Rs 7 crore including cash worth Rs 3.10 crore, illicit liquor worth Rs 2.69 crore, and narcotics worth Rs 1.21 crore were seized. Similarly, during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, a total of Rs 18.36 crore was seized, which included cash worth Rs 2.74 crore, illicit liquor worth Rs 6.23 crore, and narcotics worth Rs 9.38 crore, shared Sh. Anurag Agarwal.
He said that during the Assembly Elections 2019, cash worth Rs 5.17 crore, illicit liquor worth Rs 9.73 crore and drugs worth Rs 3.27 crore, silver worth Rs 4.14 lakh were seized, the total value of which is Rs 18.22 crore.
