Shri Krishna Ayush University, Kurukshetra today celebrated International Labour Day. Addressing all the employees, the Vice Chancellor highlighted the indispensable role of workers in India's development. He said that without their contribution and cooperation, progress remains elusive. Hence, International Labour Day, observed annually on May 1, to honour their hard work, dedication and diligence.
The Vice Chancellor Prof. Kartar Singh Dhiman highlighted various schemes introduced by both Central and State Governments to ensure the welfare and dignity of workers across government, semi-government, and private sectors. These initiatives aim to elevate the status of this crucial segment within society, considering their significant contribution to the nation's economic advancement.
This year's International Labour Day theme centers on safeguarding the health and safety of workers amidst climate change. The theme underscores the imperative of prioritizing the well-being of workers in the face of evolving environmental challenges.
