Citizens are sending complaints of violations of the Model Code of Conduct

Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Agarwal said that preparations have been made to conduct Lok Sabha general elections and Assembly by-polls in the state in an free, fair and transparent manner. He said that strict adherence to the Model Code of Conduct is being ensured during the elections. The C-Vigil mobile app developed by the Commission is also functioning as a third eye for the Commission during the elections. Through C-Vigil, 2888 complaints have been received in the state so far, said Sh. Anurag Agarwal.
He said that citizens are keeping a vigilant eye. As soon as they become aware of violations of the Model Code of Conduct, they send their complaints to the Election Commission. These complaints are resolved within 100 minutes. The active participation of the general public through the ‘C-Vigil’ mobile app in the system is a matter of pride, shared Sh. Anurag Agarwal.
Providing district-wise details, he said that the highest number 517 complaints are from Sirsa. 481 complaints have been received from Ambala, 75 from Bhiwani, 449 from Faridabad, 103 from Fatehabad, 230 from Gurugram, 172 from Hisar. Similarly, 34 complaints have been received from Jhajjar, 54 from Jind, 67 from Kaithal, 23 from Karnal, 61 from Kurukshetra, 10 from Mahendragarh, 46 from Mewat, 74 from Palwal, 123 from Panchkula, 16 from Panipat, 31 from Rewari, 110 from Rohtak, 140 from Sonipat, and 72 complaints from Yamunanagar have been received. Among these, 2494 complaints were found to be valid and action was taken accordingly.
He appealed to the citizens to support in making the elections fair and transparent. He said that citizens can take photos or record two-minute videos and upload them on this app. The photo or video will be uploaded on the app along with the GPS location. Complaints will be resolved within 100 minutes of registration.
He mentioned that flying squads and static surveillance teams have real-time information and teams will immediately reach the location from where the complaint is received on the C-Vigil app, informed Sh. Anurag Agarwal.
