Construction of Shaheedi Smarak to be completed by August 15: Anurag Rastogi

Additional Chief Secretary gave information after the meeting

Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works Department (Buildings and Roads) Anurag Rastogi today chaired a review meeting regarding the progress of construction of the 22-acre Shaheedi Smarak site of the First War of Independence being built on the Ambala-Delhi National Highway in Ambala Cantonment. During the meeting, it was decided that the entire work of this Shaheedi Samarak will be completed by August 15.
The Director General, Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture Department, Mandip Singh Brar and senior officers of the Public Works Department were present in the review meeting. Before the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi inspected the Shaheedi Smarak and took detailed information about the work of the museum gallery, memorial tower, auditorium, open-air theater, etc. being built in the memorial.
The Additional Chief Secretary directed that the galleries related to the artwork to be built should be prepared by making a schedule within the stipulated time so that the approval given by the government in this regard can be obtained. He directed the concerned officers that the major goal of the meeting is to expedite the process. During this, the representatives of the concerned agency informed the Additional Chief Secretary that 21 galleries related to artwork are to be built here, out of which drawings of 4 have been prepared. Work is going on on the drawings of 4 and it will be completed by this week.
The Additional Chief Secretary directed the concerned agency to ensure that the outline of the construction work related to the four galleries is prepared within a week. During the meeting, he also said that this work will be done in a phased manner, so as soon as the concerned agencies get the drawings of the galleries prepared and submitted to the department, the department will discuss them with the consultant and get his suggestions and send it to the government for approval.
Review meetings will be held from time to time for the progress of the work of Shaheedi Smarak and Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works Department (Buildings and Roads) Sh. Anurag Rastogi will review the work every month. Similarly, fortnightly review meetings will be held under the chairmanship of Director General Sh. Mandip Singh Brar and weekly review meetings will also be organised by senior officers so that it can be accelerated by knowing the progress of work by coordinating with various agencies and departments.
On the occasion, Director General, Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture Department, Sh. Mandip Singh Brar also closely inspected the ongoing work related to Shaheedi Smarak and also reviewed the work done and to be done by the concerned officers here. He also stated that this is an important project, and all the work under this project must be completed with better coordination and on schedule.
Chief Engineer, Public Works Department Anil Dahiya, Additional Director, Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture Department Vivek Kalia, Additional Director, Kuldeep Saini, and other senior officers remained present during the meeting.
