During the election campaign, convoys of more than 10 vehicles, except security vehicles, will not be allowed

Haryana's Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Agarwal, has announced guidelines for the Lok Sabha General Elections 2024, coinciding with the commencement of the nomination process. He emphasized that candidates and political parties must adhere to Election Commission guidelines to minimize inconvenience to the public during road shows and election rallies.
According to Sh. Agarwal, two-wheelers must be utilized for election campaigning in compliance with traffic regulations. Convoys exceeding 10 vehicles (excluding security vehicles) are prohibited. In case of inclusion of Union Ministers, State Ministers, or other dignitaries in large convoys, they must be split into groups of 10 vehicles with a minimum 100-meter distance between each convoy.
Apart from it, motorcycles are allowed to display flags. Each bike is permitted only one flag, with dimensions not exceeding 1 ft by ½ ft. Public safety is paramount, with movement permitted on only half of the road. Furthermore, the inclusion of animals and children in school uniforms in road shows is strictly prohibited. Loudspeakers installed on public platforms or vehicles are banned from use between 10 pm and 6 am during the election campaign period.
Anurag Agarwal said that the voters of Haryana are politically aware, yet the Commission has also made non-political personalities the election icons. Incidentally, film actor Rajkumar Rao, who is a national icon, is originally from Haryana and Olympian Subedar Major Neeraj Chopra is also from Haryana. Similarly, film actor Ayushmann Khurrana belongs to Haryana. He said that all the District Election Officers should make election icons of their respective districts. Their cut outs and selfie points were also made at the polling stations. Apart from this, also give information to the youth who are voting for the first time. Special programs, including painting, slogan, and quiz competitions, will be organized under SVEEP initiatives to engage youth and recognize their participation.
Agarwal said that to increase the voting percentage in the elections, election icons have been made in various districts which will motivate the citizens to vote. Earlier, Asian Games 2023 shooting gold medalist Palak was nominated for Jhajjar district, 19th Asian Games shooting silver medalist Adarsh Singh was nominated for Faridabad district, Suman Devi, who stood third in the 19th Senior Para Power Lifting Championship and State team player Yashika has been made the icon for Panipat district in the National School Games held in Bhopal and Sarabjot Singh, silver medalist in shooting in the 19th Asian Games, has been made the icon for Ambala district. Similarly, world champion gold medal winning female wrestler Sonam Malik has been made the district election icon for Sonipat district, Olympic hockey player Surinder Kaur has been made the district election icon for Kurukshetra district and Muskan, who got first position in singing in the National Youth Festival, has been made the district election icon for Fatehabad.
