3 cops injured in clash with students
JIND: Three policemen were injured today when a group of irate students of a private engineering college resorted to stone-pelting at Kinana village here.
The students were protesting against the alleged inaction of the district administration in tracing the bodies of two students who had drowned in a canal here.
When police tried to disperse the students, who also blocked the National Highway, they hurled stones at the officials, injuring a DSP and two police constables.
Police were forced to fire in the air to disperse the agitating students, officials said. About ten students have been detained in this connection, they said.
