CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Government proposes to setup a National Institute of Punjabi Language, Literature and Culture (NIPLLC) to promote mother tongue all over the world.

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Forest Department has launched an Integrated Forest Protection Scheme for proper prevention/control and management of forest fires in the State.

CHANDIGARH: The nomination papers of 27 candidates, including nominees of the Congress, BJP and INLD - were rejected during inspection on Tuesday leaving 90 candidates in fray for the May 22 by-election to four assembly constituencies in Haryana and Punjab.
