CHANDIGARH : Shiromani Akali Dal has opened an office at Karnal to conduct the 30th August rally in a successful manner, in order to counter the efforts of the Congress party to disintegrate Shiromani Gurudawara Parbandhak Committee, the supreme institution of the Sikhs, and to divide the sikh community.

CHANDIGARH: Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar today gave in principle assurance to the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal that Government of India would soon announce an adequate hike in the MSP of paddy well before the start of procurement to compensate the expenses of farmers in remenumerative terms for high costs of agricultural inputs incurred by them.

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal Friday called on Union Home Minister  Shivraj V.Patial at New Delhi   to seek special package of Rs.530.36 crore for the rehabilitation of flood affected persons and restoration of damaged infrastructure due to recent floods in the state.
