As Incharge Environment Outreach at Panjab University, I had been trying my best to intiate a dialogue in schools, colleges, individual university departments of PU on pollution of soil,water,air, noise pollution, wastage of power in heating/cooling, paper in official communications, burning of leaves,littering of poythene & GUTKHA satchets all around and above all excessive use of scooters, cars even in small cities or within campus.

A 25 year old young working executive Rohit (Name changed) suffered from severe attacks of head ache every 6 months (first in 2005 which lasted for three months, then again in 2006 which lasted for about 2-3 months and in 2009 when reported to Max Healthcare).

Drinking water is a major problem in villages in Punjab. It is a welcome step to set up a grievance cell to hear problems regarding drinking water by dy CM Punjab in mohali.But issue remains the same ,will the state govt do something about the problems faced by residents.

After Gaining notoriety by the actions of so called ‘jihadist’ and fundamentalist elements, Islam, was once again injured when 39 years old American Muslim convert major in the US army, Nidal Malik, who is serving for last 20 years, opened indiscriminate fire on the soldiers of his own unit, killing 13 of them.
