In Indian state, Punjab, ruling Akali BJP coalition has decided to demonstrate at New Delhi on 22 Feb 2008 against alleged discrimination by the Central Government on mainly three issues. These are indebtedness of the farmers, lack of industrial incentives, and formation of separate Sikh religious body in Haryana.

There is a virtual hype in India and the people are looking forward for possible solution in bio-fuels and ethanol blending. Even as some states are mandating ethanol as part of the fuel mix, new research suggests that some biofuels are less ecofriendly than they seem. Creating fuel from plants seems like a win-win proposition. It reduces dependence on foreign oil, and it doesn't produce the greenhouse gases that cause global warming – at least that's what advocates claim. But biofuels are not without their critics.
