CHANDIGARH: Infosys Technologies Limited from Chandigarh has logged in the highest exports of Rs.648.12 crores, while Dell International Services (I) Pvt Ltd from Punjab, with export of Rs.96.74 crores won the STPI Awards for the highest exports, here Wednesday on the first day of the mega IT conclave, eRevolution2010.

Pradip Mehra, Adviser to the Administrator was the chief guest of the evening, who gave away the awards to the winners.
From amongst the software development companies in the SME segments, Nvish Solutions (Rs.21.02 cr) from Chandigarh, Emerson Design Engineering Centre (Rs.19.99 cr), from Punjab, and Intelligia Technologies Pvt Ltd (Rs.2.57 cr) from Haryana, were adjudged the winners of the export awards.
The SMEs in the ITES field which won the top honours included Heron Health Pvt Ltd (Rs.4.94 cr) from Chandigarh, OPK e-Services (Rs.7.75 cr) from Punjab, and Betasoft Systems (Rs.0.87cr) from Haryana.
The Fast Tracker award in the Tricity for software development was shared by two companies, namely Paxcel Technologies (0.99 cr) and Knack BPO (Rs.2.36 cr), while Aeromatrics Info Solutions (Rs.2.37cr) was recognized with the New Entrants Award from the tricity area.
While the original mandate of STPI Mohali, like all others STPIs, is to promote software exports from the region, this year they have taken up a new initiative to promote good practices, innovation, entrepreneurship, corporate social responsibility amongst small IT players inside and outside the STPI domain.
A jury comprising eminent personalities from media, government and industry selected organizations and individuals in the new award categories, namely Best Product of the Year Award, Innovative Idea of the Year Award, Best HR Practices of the Year Award, Socially Active Unit of the Year Award, Youngest Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Senior's Passion for IT Award of the Year.

Best Product of the Year Award went to VCopious from TechTier IT Solutions, and Salil Mathur, COO of the company received the award. The product's biggest achievement by far was when SAP chose it for using it at their prestigious event SAPPHIRE Now in Orland 2010. The platform performed with more than 35000 attendees with success.
Innovative Idea of the Year Award went to SafalTek Software Pvt Ltd for their product OceanManager. Mr Rohit Garg, director of the company received the award.
The award for the Best HR Practices of the Year went to Connoisseur Infotech Pvt. Ltd.
Socially Active Unit of the Year Award was shared by Jaskirat Singh, Director, Webrosoft Technologies for their software for an NGO, Association for Democratic Reforms, and by GreyCell Technologies (Manish Johar, CEO), for their work on blood donation, and various other social campaigns.
Youngest Entrepreneur of the Year Award, was bagged by 22 year old Ritoban Chakrabarti of MarkAce Marketing Pvt Ltd, who helps coaching thousands of students in internet marketing and in the first six months of his business earned $1.5 million in gross income earning a net profit of $0.5 million.
Komal Talwar, founder of Talwar & Talwar Consultants received the Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the business she started in 2006 for patent prosecution and litigation support to US attorneys and law firms.
Senior's Passion for IT Award of the Year was given to 66-year old Col. Anil Khanna, CEO, Sesia Consulting, whose search portal, Moogle, receives over 60,000 page views everyday.
