Punjab Newsline Network

By Maqbool Ahmed
QADIAN:Central Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said that Non-Congress Governments in the different states are not co-operating with the Central Government. He was addressing a political rally in the “Sarae Tahir”of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat here in Qadian. He said that in Punjab assembly election there is a wave for Congress. Political atmosphere has changed for the last 3-4 days. He said we have seen in the past that after the five years people have changed the government and now it is our turn to gain the power in Punjab.

He further added the congress rebels and workers are again joining the party and now they are supporting the official party candidates. He said from 1947 to 2000 the centre has given financial help to the states.  He told under NREGA scheme, centre has given funds to the state governments for roads, school, health services.  But the non-congress governments haven’t spent money on these schemes.

Ghulam Nabi Azad claimed that those states where congress has its government there funds were used on these schemes. But those states where congress has no power there these funds were misused. He quoted the example of Uttar Pardesh example where BSP is ruling. Centre has issued 3000 crore rupees for different programmers. But their Chief Minister Mayawati never attended central government meetings and she has never sent their officials or ministers to attend the meetings.

Talking about diseases, he said that in world there are three major diseases, cancer, sugar and heart problems and India will be effected more than others and in 2030 every 2-3 person there will be sugar patient and 4-5 will be cancer patient.  Therefore, the centre has started pilot projects in 650 districts of 21 states including Punjab.
