JALANDHAR: The commissionerate police claims to have nabbed 12 criminals involved in various crimes of way laid robberies, vehicle thefts and attempt to murder cases. ACP Naresh Dogra said that Ashish alias Ashoo and Nirvail Singh alias Lovely were arrested for robbing a Abadpura resident Narinder in the midnight of June 27 & 28 while he was on his way to home near Red Cross Bhawan.
The ACP said that on the basis of registration number of the bike noted down by the victim afterhe was robbed of his belongings, the police succeeded in apprehending the culprit bikers.
In another incident, the Bhargava Camp police arrested 8 persons involved in looting a reporter of a local daily after injuring him seriously. The accused have beenidentified as Dasmeet Singh, Gurinder Singh, SunilKumar, Sukha, Hardip Singh, Sukhdev Singh and Harprit Singh. SHO Inspector Som Nath said that one accused Onkar Singh had absconded while another said to be the kingpin of the gang had already been sent to jail.
The police arrested a proclaimed offender Jasmeet Singh who was wanted in an attempt to murder case registered against him at PS division 8 onJuly7,last year u/s 307, 323,324 and arms act.
The police of PS division no 4 had arrested a vehicle lifter Dimpla with a stolen motorbike which was stolen by him from the area of Milap chowk.
