Punjab police registers case against SP and SHO in turban removal case

   
##img_1##CHANDIGARH: A criminal case against Pritam Singh Suprintendent of police (detective) and Kulbhushan Sharma sub inspector, SHO at the Phase 8 police station was finally registered by the SAS Nagar police, two days after the deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal's orders on Monday.

##ad_1##The policemen are accused of disrespecting the sentiments of the Sikh community by removing the turban of a Sikh protestor in the SAS Nagar last week. Deputy CM had Monday ordered the district police to register a case against the accused under Section 295-A of the IPC. They were also suspended and a responsible inquiry was made on the directions of the deputy CM.

Additional deputy commissioner Mohinder Singh Kainth conducted the magisterial inquiry which was submitted to DS Bains, the Principal Secretary (home). 

The strict action of registration of case against the officials was ordered after the consideration of all the available facts including the video footage of the incident on video-sharing websites like YouTube.
