NAWANSHAHR: Loans worth Rs 10 lakh were being provided at a subsidy of 33 per cent by the Farmers Commission to the unemployed individual farmers who own 10 acres of land and possess the degree of graduation in agriculture.

These loans were being provided to enable them to open agriculture service centres, revealed DC Nilkanth Avhad in a release here on Friday. The DC added that a special awareness programme to familiarise the farmers with the schemes of the National Horticulture Mission would soon be launched in the district. The directions have been issued for planting bamboo trees along side canals to prevent soil erosion, added the release.
