Raveena turns singer for 'Ginn Liya Aasmaan'

MUMBAI: Actress Raveena Tandon is set to join the short list of female stars who have sung in films. She will make her singing debut with bilingual film "Ginn Liya Aasman".

So far, female actors have kept away from the trend of singing in films, barring a few like Sridevi, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor.

And Raveena is set to take the challenge head on.

"It is a very sweet song and does not have a very difficult tune but yes you will get to hear her vocal chords in the film. She is very excited about this and would be recording the song in few days," producer Vishwajit Gaikwad said in a statement.

Last seen in Amitabh Bachchan-starrer "Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap", Raveena will be seen as a mother to a six-year-old boy in "Ginn Liya Aasman".

The Hindi and Marathi film is directed by Rishi Deshpande, and co-produced by Mudassar Aziz, Anil Bohra and Gaikwad.

It narrates the story of a child, whose father, a naval officer, goes missing after a plane crash and the boy is told his father lives in the sky.

Raveena has brushed up her Marathi too for the movie.
