Sukhbir lays foundation stone of PODS train project

POD train system is being introduced to facilitate the pilgrims to reach   Golden Temple direct from Railway station or to City Bus stand while bypassing the bottle neck road route Foundation stone was laid outside the Hall Gate where shopkeepers raised anti government Slogans as ‘Punjab Sarkar Murdabad’. 

Shopkeepers have apprehensions that with the arrival of this project their business would get severe damage. They were alleging that when visitor board the POD system from Bus Stand or Railway Station for Golden Temple, the chance of window shopping for visitors would be negligible, since this POD train would move in the air, above ground level. Shopkeepers staged strong protest as staged dharna where the foundation stone was being laid. Not only this even indulged in heated arguments which badly perturbed the Sukhbir Badal, since protesters were not allowing Sukhbir to speak.

##ad_2##Sukhbir held meeting with the local shopkeepers and attempted to pacify them by saying that it would not adversely affect their business. Talking to media Sukhbir claimed that Amritsar will be the first city in country to have POD system.He said that the construction of this project would be completed in 18 months and this would put this religious city of Amritsar on international tourist map. He also gave the demonstration of the POD system and said that it would be the most non-intrusive system and Memorandum of Understanding for setting up POD has been already signed with the British Company.

When asked about effect of delimitation and swapping of some seats with coalition partner BJP, Badal said that final decision on swapping few seats with BJP was at final stage. He said that Shiromani Akali Dal would announce the remaining candidates of SAD in few days so that concerned candidates would concentrates on their respective constituencies.
