CHANDIGARH: As a part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES), Western Command organized an Art and Craft exhibition in Army Public School, Chandimandir Saturday.
The exhibition depicting the multifarious talents of students from all Army Schools/Army Public Schools of Western Command had great fanfare and enthusiasm. Bina Aul, Offg President AWWA, Western Command was the Chief Guest on the occasion. A panel of distinguished judges that includes Manjeet Kaur, Chairperson, Army Public School, Chandimandir, Col Deepak Kumar (Retd), Director, Army Welfare Education Society (AWES), Headquarters Western Command, and RK Sharma, Director, Bama Academy selected the best exhibits for the command level competition to be held in New Delhi on 29 April. Bina Aul later gave away the prizes to the winners of the competition and appreciated the creative work of the students. Namisha of Army School Ambala and Suraj Singh, Army Public School Dhaula Kaun bagged the first prize in Craft and Art respectively. Established in 1983, Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) is perpetually making a positive contribution in the lives of Defence personnel. It provides opportunity for students to get education in schools and various elite, professional colleges all over India. |
