Wheat arrivals pick up in Haryana mandis |

CHANDIGARH: About 39.33 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has arrived in the 362 mandis of Haryana so far. The arrival of wheat is gradually picking up and since the procurement of wheat that started on April 1.
Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said that out of the arrivals, 39.07 lakh MTs of wheat had been procured by six Government procurement agencies at the minimum support price of Rs.1,000 per quintal and 25,740 MTs had been purchased by the traders. He said that 37.37 lakh MTs of wheat was procured during the corresponding period last year; 33.49 lakh MTs by government. About 1.95 lakh MTs more wheat had been procured during this period as compared to the last year. Mohan said that the Food and Supplies Department had procured 8.03 lakh MTs of wheat, HAFED had procured 14.74 lakh MTs, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 3.58 lakh MTs, Food Corporation of India 6.11 lakh MTs, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 3.36 lakh MTs and Confed 3.23 lakh MT
