LUCKNOW: A major fire Monday broke out in Hazrat Ganj area in the heart of the city, police said.

According to the police the incident took place Monday morning when the fire broke out in Bank of Baroda office on the second floor of a building housing several offices.

The officials said that, the fire also spread to another office of an insurance company in the building.

A number of fire brigade vehicles were pressed into service that succeeded in dousing the fire within half an hour.

The exact reason of fire could not be ascertained.
