PATIALA : Tarlochan Singh member parliament and former vice president of Indian Hockey federation has welcome the expulsion of KPS Gill from the post of president of IHF.
Talking to newsman Tarlochan Singh said that now future of hockey in India would be bright. He said that now the ad-hoc committee comprising Ashok Kumar, Dhanraj Pillay, Ajit Pal Singh and Zafar Iqbal would work together for the upliftment of Hockey. He said that since Punjab was the nursery of hockey and new committee should look into it and will encourage players from Punjab and Haryana rather than balancing the ratio of other states, they should go for the good stuff There is lot of talent still present in Punjab for hockey. Hockey can still reach at its peak if that talent is recognized, he added. Regarding allegation of KPS gill on Indian sports minister-MS Gill, that he was pro khalistani and since he (KPS) has fought battle against militancy, he said that KPS Gill have been creating mess and diverting his failure to others. When asked about to change the national game, he replied that Hockey is our national sport because it is originated from India, so how come we can change from Hockey to Cricket, which is originated from English soil. |
