CHANDIGARH: Adviser to the UT Administrator, Pradip Mehra inaugurated a photo exhibition "Golden Moments from the History of Good" here Thursday.
The exhibition was organized by the members of Rotary Club, Chandigarh to mark its Golden Jubilee celebrations. The exhibition was put on at the Government Museum and Art Gallery, Sector 10. Adviser, on the occasion, appreciated and commended the work done by the Club in the past 50 years. He said that the members of the club have worked hand-in-hand with the Administration in the development process. Mehra affirmed that the exhibition is a wonderful assortment of memories and a testimony to the selfless services rendered by this dedicated group of people. "The history of the Rotary in India is the history of the development of India", added Adviser. The photos displayed in the exhibition highlighted the major landmark projects of the Rotary Club including the on-going project of Rotary Heartline, Blood Resource Centre, Rotary PGI Serai, Rotary Vocational Training Centre, Medical Camps, setting up of Creche for children of daily wagers, schools and dispensaries. President, Rotary Club Chandigarh, Arvind Mehan on the occasion, informed that the Club was chartered on May 10, 1958 by Rotary International and since then it has evolved with the city. He also revealed the three major projects including 'Hamari Beti', 'Gift of Sight' and 'Gift of Knowledge' which would be launched shortly for the weaker sections of the society. |
