CHANDIGARH: The region is all set to witness probably the biggest ever job placement festival in the history of North India with a joint campus pool placement drive to be organized from May 2 to May 4 at Rayat and Bahra Institute of Engineering and Bio Technology, Sahauran campus, near here.
Beginning Friday, the recruitment extravaganza will feature 139 top notch corporate majors and an unprecedented number of 25,000 plus candidates who will be assessed and scrutinized in a marathon round of interviews which will be held over a huge structure installed with segregated sections for each company. Sharing the details about the placement extravaganza which is tipped to be the biggest ever in the region including New Delhi, Sardar Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Vice Chairman, Rayat and Bahra group informed that unprecedented arrangements have been made for the placement which is set to break all records in the next 3 days. Bahra added that hundreds of officials from about 139 renowned companies and MNCs will hold the interviews which will be segregated in different sections. Bahra further said that 100 separate AC sections and enclosures have been made in the specially erected hangar with a dimension of 200/ 80 feet. Furthermore, all companies will be given dedicated sections to conduct interviews in which over 25,000 students from all across the states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Chandigarh and New Delhi are likely to participate on a massive scale. Students from hundreds of engineering, MBA, IT and other institutes from all across India are likely to participate in the drive. Bahra stated that companies from 18 different sectors including banking, insurance, finance, FMCG, health, media, IT, BPOs, KPOs, retail, marketing, pharmaceuticals and other sectors will be participating. Companies who will come talent scouting to the institute, informed Bahra, will include Wipro , HCL, Wipro InfoTech, Reliance Communication, CMC, Idea, JK cement, Leela group, Saber Corp, Vardhman Polytex, Duke, India Mart, Trident, Sify Corp, Swaraj Mazda, Saint Gobain, Nestle, Aditya Birla, Loreal, Godrej, Henke, HUL, Subhiksha, Vishal Mega Mart, Birla, Crefour Group, ITC Choupal, Hindustan Times, Amar Ujala and Spencer.
Elaborating upon the arrangements made so far for the event Bahra informed that over 25 lakh would be spent on the recruitment drive for which over 100 rooms have been booked in various hotels of Chandigarh and similar number of vehicles would ferry company officials to and from Rayat and Bahra campus over next three days.
Bahra said that till date over 2.50 lakh online hits on official Rayat and Bahra group website and over 25000 online registrations alone have already made the recruitment drive massively popular even before the show has begun. It's a record breaking drive in terms of volumes and we expect that the results in form of final placements and job offers would be even impressive, hoped Bahra.
