FATEHGARH SAHIB: The Fatehgarh Sahib police claimed to achieve a major success.

Fatehgarh Sahib SSP Dr Kaustabh Sharma informed that SI Mahesh Kumar, SHO  Khamano along with ASI Harminder Singh and other police officials while patrolling acted upon secret information and laid naka at minor canal bridge, Khamano and apprehended driver Kamaljit Singh, a resident of  Begampura  Mohala Fatehgarh Chowk, Rahimpura  Road Hoshirpur  along with Truck PB-07T-3270.

He said that the said truck was loaded with illegally transported English Whisky and  Rum for sale in Chandigarh only. The SSP said that from the Truck 165 cases of Hi Speed Brand, 93 cases of Officer's Choice, 10 cases of Green label, 4 cases each of Bagpiper and McDowell brand English Whisky and  4 cases of 3X English Rum has been seized.

The SSP said that the owner of truck and main culprit Ashok Kumar , resident of  Mohalla Roopnagar, Hoshiapur fled from the scene under cover of darkness and  every effort is being made to apprehend the absconded Ashok Kumar.

He said that as the arrest of kingpin Ashok could lead to more recovery and disclosure about his liquor racket.  He said that investigations are on  and police remand of arrested Kamaljit would be sought from the court.
