BJP demands to review 'black list' of former Sikh terrorists |

CHANDIGARH: In an important political move, the BJP Thursday demanded to review the so called 'black list' of former Sikh terrorists who are living abroad and wanted to return to national main stream.
Rajinder Bhandari President of Punjab unit of BJP who returned from ten tour tour of Canada, said here that he met several people there who were swayed by religious emotions during early eighties following operation blue star but now want to return to their home land. He said that the Sikh army men who had deserted their barracks were also rehabilitated. He said that he was told that some black list existed that contains names of many people. He said that he had tried to inquire from Indian Consulate in Canada about the black list but he was told that home ministry deals with it.
He said that he would apprise the party high command about it and meet the union home minister after taking party's permission. Bhandari said that he was of the opinion that if Punjabis settled abroad wanted to return to main stream they should be given an opportunity. He said that he had removed many misconceptions in the mind of NRI's aboutPunjab and BJP. |
