CHANDIGARH: A homeopathic drug store in the city and a grocery shop were gutted and three firemen injured in a devastating fire here Thursday.

There were no casualties as most of the people working in the two shops managed to move out immediately after the fire broke out, Chief Fire Officer ML Sharma said.

At least eight fire tenders took over two hours to douse the flames, he said.

The cause of the fire and the damages done by it are yet to be ascertained, he said.

Three fire personnel Ishwar Dass, Amarjeet Singh and Shushil Kumar Sharma received burn injuries on their arms while trying to extinguish the blaze, he added.
