CHANDIGARH: One Chandigarh Naval Unit NCC, Chandigarh under the Command of Commander DV Singh organised a painting competition at Sukhna Lake Friday where Wing Cadets of Junior Division and Junior Wing from various Institutions of Chandigarh took part. 

The themes of the painting competition were Female Feticide, Global Warming, No to Use of Plastic and Anti Drugs.

The event has been organized to spread the awareness among the young cadets of the social evils in the society.  The Cadets prepared banners and placards depicting various themes.

Cadet Navneet Singh of DAV Sr Sec School Sector 8, Cadet Gurwinder Singh of Govt Model Sr Sec School Sector 16, and Prabjot Kaur of Guru Nanak Public School Sector 36 bagged the first, second and third prize respectively in the competition.  A consolation prize was also awarded to Vikram Kumar of Govt Model High School Sector 20 Chandigarh.

The winners were felicitated by the chief guest Colonel MS Chauhan, Group Commander, NCC Group HQ, Chandigarh.  The chief guest spoke to the cadets on the occasion and congratulated all the participants.

He emphasized on the need by individual cadets to carry the social message to their friends, neighbors and sensitize the general public on the social issues which are a cause of concern in our society.
