Master plan for holy city prepared, says Sidhu Print E-mail

AMRITSAR: Jumping the election code of conduct, cricketer turned Politician, BJP Parliamentarian Navjot Singh Sidhu here Friday announced and displayed the Master Plan for the holy city of Amritsar.

 

By-election for Amritsar South Assembly constituency would be held on May 22.

During the interaction with the media here Friday, Sidhu claimed that Rs. 106 crore has been earmarked to materialize Master Plan made for the overall development of the city. He said that Global Tendering system being adopted to initiate the developmental works.

Under the new Mater Plan focus would be drawn for laying dry brick flooring and construction of drains in all the municipal wards situated on outskirts of city, which were earlier neglected by the pervious Government, Sidhu claimed.

Sidhu said that main entrance of city at national Highway on G.T. Road, situation would be improved by widening the existing road including median, footpaths. A full size palm trees and other ornamental trees with landscaping alongwith the big portraits of Golden Temple and Durgiana Temple with lazer lights.

Sidhu said that all the roads in the city will be painted with Thermoplasts Flourocent road marking paint by mechanicals means and provided with Road Signage, Road Signals, Directions boards, traffic signals, zebra crossing and special attention will also be given at Road junction to provide separate passage for pedestrian.

Sidhu said all roads in the city will be provided within colorful footpath with interlocking tiles, lamps posts and road furniture.
