JALANDHAR: In a shocking incident a newly married woman was allegedly burnt to death by her in-laws at her house in Pacca Bagh area, police said here Saturday.

Rajni Sharma (22) and her husband Chetan had frequent quarrels over domestic issues and often neighbours had to intervene, Superintendent of Police S K Kalia said, adding that flames were seen rising from the house this morning after an altercation between Rajni and her mother-in-law.

Fire tenders doused flames and Rajni was found charred to death.

Case has been registered against Chetan, Kiran and sister-in-law Kanchan, police said.
