The other members of the squad would be senior officers of the department from state and district headquarters.

He disclosed that a special quality control campaign had already been launched in the State in collaboration with the district administration in two phases.

The second phase would start on June 10 and last till July 10 with special emphasis on fertilisers and pesticides. The main emphasis of the campaign would be on taking of samples of seeds, fertilisers, pesticides, weedicides and fungicides.

Chatha advised the farmers to obtain receipts, cash memos, bills on the purchase of agriculture inputs, which may help them in filling claims in the consumer forum, in case of any damage to their crops with the usage of agricultural inputs procured by them.

For obtaining the receipts, cash memos, bills on the purchase of agriculture inputs, the farmers need not pay any extra amount on account of taxes since VAT was not levied on these inputs, he said.
