CHANDIGARH: Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) has promised to enhance the old age pension to Rs 700 per month after forming the government in Haryana.

In a press statement issued here Friday INLD president & former Haryana chief minister, Chaudhary Om Parkash Chautala said that inflation has increased many fold, so the amount of Rs 300 has become peltry. He said that if the INLD had formed the government in the last general elections, it would have already increased to Rs 500 per month.

Chautala reminded that old age pension was started by Late Chaudhary Devi Lal in 1987, which was followed at the national level. INLD government started Rs 100 per month, INLD governments further increased it to Rs 200 & Rs 300, he added.

While referring to spiraling prices & consistent inflation rate, which further rose to 7.61 percent today, INLD chief said that Congress party has totally failed to control inflation. He said that government has no real intent to control the prices as it is hand in glove with the hoarders. He said that it has been matter of record that inflation & black marketing have always flourished in the Congress governments. Prices of all the industrial products go out of reach for a common-man after the formation of Congress government, be it cement, steel, fertilizers, pesticides or other daily utilities, he added.

Chautala said it is irony that Hooda government is seeking vote on development, while it has failed to provide basic services like the drinking water to the people, electricity for the commercial & industrial institutions, collapse of law & order machinery. It shows that Mr Hooda is living in a 'fool's paradise' & he has lost all touch with the ground realities, he added.

Chautala said that after visiting all the three assembly segments of Gohana, Indri & Adampur there was no doubt that the people would elect INLD candidates with big margins & Congress's 'A' & 'B' teams are contesting for second and third places.

Accompanied by INLD candidate from Adampur Prof Sampat Singh, Mr Chautala addressed a number of election meetings today at 18 villages of Adampur assembly segment & called upon the people to teach a suitable lesson to the Congress party.

INLD candidate from Indri, Dr Ashok Kashyap addressed many election meetings in various villages of Indri today. INLD leader & HOA president, Mr Abhey Singh Chautala also addressed the election meetings at Indri.

Addressing election meetings at Gohana, INLD candidate Dr K.C. Bangar asked the chief minister to not to try to befool the people as people realize that no development work was carried out in the last three years of Hooda government.
