PATIALA: 13th chieftain of the Budha Dal sect of the Nihang Sikhs, Baba Santa Singh, cremated here Friday afternoon amidst tension. Baba Santa Singh  died yesterday at Local Rajindra Hospital after prolonged illness.

Police did not allow the group of about 250 Nihang Sikhs, led by Joginder Singh and Baksheesh Singh to have last look of Baba. Police party led by Sp detective GS chuohan prevented them to enter Bagichi (rest place of Nihangs) near Modi College. The body of Baba Santa Singh was kept there since last night.

Later Paramjit Singh gill DIG, Patiala range agreed to take them for last look of Baba in-group of ten. They did not agree on this proposal they wanted to have all the Sikhs should participate the last rites of Baba Santa Singh.

They were taken to Gurwara Moti Bagh and before dispersing they have performed ardas there for Baba.

Meanwhile 14th chief of sect. Baba Singh has lit the pyre of baba Santa Singh at Gaamgarh Chawani at Sular road. The head granthi of Drabar Sahib Amritsar Gyani Gurbachan singh has performed the ardas.

Others who have attended the funeral were Jathedar of takhat Damdama sahib Gyani Balwant Singh Nangarh, SGP chief Avtar Singh Makkar, Harnam Singh Dhuman of Damadami taksal, Tarlocahn singh member parliament, Braham Mohindra MLA Samana.

The Deputy Commissioner Patiala DS grewal and Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra have palced the wreths on behalf of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and SAD's president Sukhbir Singh Badal.
