CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister,  Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said that opposition parties contesting the bye-election to three Assembly Constituencies in Haryana have no issue to seek votes and these parties have been exposed.

The Chief Minister, who was interacting with mediapersons at village Panihar Chakk in Adampur Assembly constituency, was confident of Congress Party’s victory with massive mandate in the bye-election  to Assembly constituencies of Adampur, Gohana and Indri.

He said that now the voters would cast their votes on the issues of electricity, water and inflation and they were satisfied with the steps being taken by the Government to ensure adequate supply of water and electricity and measures being taken to check inflation. Only the awareness of the voters would ensure the victory of Congress candidates, he added.     In reply to a question he made it clear that there was no difference of opinion between the leaders and office bearers of the Congress Party.  He said that parties like HVP were not existing now victory of party’s candidates.

Earlier, while addressing a public meeting at village Muklan, the Chief Minister said that this bye-election had been forced upon the voters and sometimes such pressures yield good results. He said that the people have tried only one person for 40 years and now they should try the functioning of the other person for two years and thereafter they could take their own  decision. He assured them all-around development of the area, saying that the Government believed in ensuring development at an accelerated pace without any vendetta.

He questioned that did any of the previous governments got the farmers as much price for wheat, cotton and mustard, as has been given by the present government. He also asked them to compare the steps taken by the government for the welfare of Schedule Castes and Backward Classes with those of the previous government. He said that the present government has introduced schemes of scholarships for the students belonging to Scheduled Castes and has introduced a scheme to allot residential plots of 100 sq.yards.      Mr.Hooda said that Rs. 4.32 crore have been spent on the development of village Muklan only.  He urged the voters to  elect the Congress candidate, Mr.Ranjit
Singh from Adampur Assembly constituency.  He also addressed public meetings at a number of villages namely Gorchhi, Bhiwani Rohilla, Rawalwas Khurd, Shahpur, Neolikalan, Jakhod Khera, Bagla, Mohabatpur, Ghursal, Bandaheri and Dobi and urged the people to elect Ch.Ranjit Singh from Adampur Assembly  constituency.

The Political Advisor to Chief Minister, Prof. Virender Singh, who also addressed these public meetings said that this bye-election was being held because Ch.Bhajan Lal had quit the Congress Party and his younger son, Mr.Kuldeep had formed a new party. He pointed out that on the question that would Mr.Bhajan Lal become Chief Minister in case the new party came to power, Mr.Kuldeep had replied that as Mr. Bhajan Lal’s health was  not so good, he himself would become the Chief Minister. He said that as Ch.Bhajan Lal’s son was himself commenting on the health of  his father,  how could Mrs.Sonia Gandhi appoint Mr.Bhajan Lal as the Chief Minister.

As the date for polling is drawing near, leaders and office bearers of other parties are joining the Congress party. In the presence of Member Parliament from Hisar, Mr. Jai Parkash, more than two dozen office bearers of Haryana Janhit Congress led by Vice President of District Congress Unit of farmers, Mr.Ajay Jakhar joined the Congress Party at village Neoli Khurd in district Hisar.

Kunal Bhadu,son-in-law of Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda  has adopted a unique method to seek votes in favour of Congress candidate for bye-election to Adampur Assembly Constituency.  While leading a Sadbhawana Rath, he has been going from house to house to urge the people to rise above parochial consideration of caste and vote for Congress candidate, Ch.Ranjit Singh. Mr. Bhadu’s Rath has generated tremendous response from the people.  His Rath has so far covered 22 villages of the area.
