It may be mentioned here that district Fatehgarh Sahib is home turf of Mann as his residence Quila Harnam Singh near village Bahadurgarh falls in the district.  Mann’s party suffered a big jolt last year when two Shiromani Gurdwara Pabandhak Committee(SGPC) members Ravinder Singh Khalsa and Surinder Kaur from district Fatehgarh Sahib  had won the election with the support of Mann party but now these members are  associated with Daljit Singh Bittu led SAD Amritsar(presidium).

In the recent held ZP election in district Fatehgarh Sahib ,on all ten seats, Badal led SAD managed to win 9 seats while Congress one seat. The BSs results , which were declared on late yesterday evening, in all five blocks of 76 zones, SAD candidates had registered their win on 66 seats, Congress on 8 seats, BJP on two  seats.
