AMRITSAR: Chairman Sikh Judicial Commission (SGJC) Kashmir Singh Patti here Monday expressed apprehension of life threat from the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.

Patti said if any mishap occurred to him or his family, it would be the direct responsibility of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.

Talking to the media personsat his residence, Kashmir Singh Patti said, “ If anything happen to him or any of his family members, it would be the direct responsibility of the SAD Government led by the Parkash Singh Badal. Badal could eliminate me at anytime.  Anything worst could be expected from Badal”.

“Presently I am not satisfied with the security cover, provided by the Punjab Government”, Patti added.

Patti said that numerous cases with regard to corruption against the senior Akali leaders including former SGPC chiefs including Bibi Jagir Kaur and Kirpal Singh Badungar were pending in his court and he (Patti) wanted to dispose off them on merits that is why senior Akali leadership was scared.

Adding further Patti said, “Punjab Government wants to remove me from the post of Chairman of SGJC with immediate effect but I will never give any judgment under any pressure but ready to resign”.

Patti said that sitting SGPC secretary Harbeant Singh has filed complaint of misbehavior against me before the chief secretary Punjab and I have also replied to the chief Minister, said Patti.

Continuing further Patti said, “Harbeant Singh alleged before the chief secretary that I have misbehaved with him during the court proceedings. Whereas, the fact is that I am going to decide the case of Harbeant Singh on merit but Harbeant was expecting harsh judgment from my end and that is why he took up the matter with the chief secretary Punjab”.

Patti said, “Former SGPC Secretary Ragubir Singh through a petition filed in my court has alleged that sitting SGPC secretary Harbeant Singh has obtained the job in SGPC on the basis of his matriculation certificate which has been proved fake and dubious and that is why Harbeant Singh is deadly scared from the consequences as he may be terminated from the present job from SGPC”.

Patti said that when Gurcahran Singh Tohra was the president of SGPC, at that time same Harbeant Singh was sacked from the present post, since during the enquiry conducted by the senior SGPC officials the matriculation certificate of Harbeant Singh was found fake. But later on, when Badal came in power and Makkar became the SGPCA chief, then on the interventions of Badal, Harbeant was reappointed and his termination was revoked.

Patti said, “ I was appointed as chairman of SGJC during the regime of Congress and my most of the judgments went against the corrupt SGPC officials who were reportedly close confident to Badal. But at that time Badal was in oppositions and now he came in Power and wanted to remove me as chairman of SGJC. This is the main reason on the intervention of Badal, chief secretary issued me notice”.

Patti said that in reply to chief secretary it was informed that as per the Sikh Gurdwara Act 1925 and as per the provisions of Constitutions of India the President of SGJC has power to perform judicial functions. There is separation of powers, therefore this kind of enquiry by an IAS officer of the State of Punjab cannot he held. It is the judicial function i.e. of the High Court to conduct such enquires against him.
