FATEHGARH SHAIB: 112 panchyats in district Fatehgarh Sahib have been elected unopposed. Fatehgarh Sahib Deputy Commissioner-cum- District Electoral Officer Ashok Singla said that 23 elects have declared unopposed in  Amloh block, 26 in Bassi Pathana, 17 in Khamano block, 23 in Khera block and 23 in Sirhind block .  

The DC said that 6,497 candidates had filed nomination papers in 5 blocks of the district. He said that 200 nomination papers have rejected on various grounds after scrutiny.  He said that symbols have been allotted to 1,422 candidates in Amloh block, 1,039 in Bassi Pathana block, 1,095 in Khamano block, 1,119 in Khera block, 1,622 in Sirhind block.

Meanwhile, Karnail Singh Panjoli, member Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has been elected Sarpanch of village Panjoli Kalan unopposed. Panjoli said that residents of village are elected panchyat of village unanimously for 15 years.
