CHANDIGARH: The counting for all Zila Parishad / Panchayat Samiti zones/ constituencies where poll had been held but counting was postponed shall be carried out on May 27 at 11.00 AM.  Further, counting for all zones/ constituencies of Zila Parishads/ Panchayat Samitis where elections were postponed, and scheduled to be held on 26.05.2008 shall also be done on May 27 at 11.00 AM.

Pursuant to the decision of the Punjab and Haryana High Court general elections to erstwhile Gram Panchayats which have been split into two or more Gram Panchayats on or after April 11 were postponed.  The voter list of erstwhile Gram Panchayat already printed and published has to be first split between the parent Panchayat and the newly constituted Panchayats.  Thereafter the general elections to these Gram Panchayats shall be held.  For this purpose the following schedule.
 
Splitting up of voter list of erstwhile Gram Panchayats  into its constituents Gram Panchayats 28.05.2008 to  29.05.2008, Inviting objections limited to the inclusion in the voter  list of specific Gram Panchayats  May 30 to  June 3.  Disposal of claims and objections will take place on  June 04 to  05 and Publication of Voter lists on June 6, 2008.
