AMRITSAR:  Punjab Pradesh Congress committee (PPCC) in a complaint to the Chief Election Commission of India has demanded the cancellation of candidature of SAD (B) Candidate Inder Bir Singh Bolaria for contesting the Assembly -Amritsar South Bye Poll.

In a release issued here Thursday, PPCC spokes person Bir Davinder Singh said that PPCC has also urged the chief election commission of India that Bolaria may further be disqualified from contesting the election for a period of Six years.

Bir Davinder further informed that Election Commission was also urged for strict action against all those officers who accompanied Chief Minister Punjab Parkash Singh Badal during his visit in Amritsar for election campaign and actively participated and canvassed for votes in  favour of the SAD (B) Candidate.

PPCC urged EC that Parkash Singh Badal, has virtually confessed his guilt that he misused his official vehicles and State Helicopter for campaigning in favour of the SAD (B) Candidate in Amritsar South Bye Poll in a clandestine manner on April 28, May 1,3,6,8 and 15,2008 but requested the Commission for treating his these journeys as his private visits.

PPCC urged EC to direct Badal that he should reimburse the cost of the Bulletproof and other cars and that of Air Travel to the Government, the SAD (B) is reported to have deposited Rs..19 lakhs in this regard in the Government treasury, informed Bir Davinder.

Bir Davinder Singh said this expenditure of Rs.19 lakh which is beyond the prescribed limit -allegedly deposited by the SAD(B) Party in Government treasury is deemed to be the expenditure in connection  with the election incurred or authorized by the SAD (B) Candidate i.e.  Inder Bir Singh Bolaria himself. So he may be held guilty of having committing the corrupt practice as defined in the Section 123(6) of the R..P. Act 1951.
