CHANDIGARH: The Congress party would on Sunday announce action plan against murder of four Congress workers by Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) members in a month.  Three Congressmen were hacked to death on Friday in Bathinda and Mansa districts.

Punjab Pardesh Congress Committee(PPCC) president Rajinder Kaur Bhattal has given call to all congress men to reach tomorrow at Bhagta Bhai Ka in Bathinda district to lodge protest against political murders.

PPCC Chief Spokesman Bir Devinder  Singh said that SAD has started a new trend of political murders which had never happened in history of Punjab. He said that the violence started with Panchayat elections, SAD hijacking the whole election process. He said that PPCC president would announce action plan tomorrow at Bhagta Bhai Ka where party leaders would pay tributes to deceased party workers.

He said that the views of Congress were endorsed by media  and judiciary. He said that all newspapers had condemned the way the SAD misused the government machinery and indulged in violence to win the elections. He stated that punjab and Haryan High Court during hearing of a writ petition on Friday made an observation that ruling party has gone berserk and Panchayat election process has became irrelevant.

Bir Devinder Singh also condemned state election commission for its incompetence. He said that state election commission should introspect its working. He said that Municipal Committee elections being held on June 30 could not be free and fair under the state election commission. He said that PPCC would demand to deploy central para-military forces for smooth conduct of MC poll.He feared that SAD goons from rural areas would be brought to urban areas to rig the poll and urbanites may retaliate leading to violence in state. He said that Congress wants to avoid such situation.

Bir Devinder Singh has also demanded to convene special session of Punjab Vidhan Sabha to discuss the law and order situation and conduct of ruling party during Panchayat elections.

He said Congress would contest elections on party symbol in  A  and B class municipalities, and Municipal Corporation, Bathinda  but will not contest on party symbol in C class municipalities.

 Bir Devinder Singh said that there  is possibility of tie up with like minded parties to defeat SAD-BJP  alliance government. He alleged that there is highhanded of SAD in recent  held Zila Parishad, Block Samitis, Panchayat election, Amritsar bye  election. He SAD alliance partner raised serious objection over it.

When asked about the possibility of patch up between PPCC president  Rajinder Kaur Bhattal and former CM Capt Amarinder Singh, he said that  there is always possibility of patch up. He said that Capt Amarinder Singh  should work as per the directions of the Congress High Command. He  said that when Amarinder Singh was CM, he(Bir Devinder) and Bhattal also  followed the directions of the party .
