AMRITSAR: Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal during his Sangat Darshan Programe here Tuesday informed that Punjab Government has prepared a Master Plan for the development of holy city Amritsar being its religious and historical importance.
Adding further Badal said that in this regard tenders floated to invite World Class Companies so that its development made such as it would be a World Class beautiful city with in next 3 years with ample potential to attract the tourists, who come here to pay their obeisance. Punjab Government also set up a Amritsar Development Authority to speed-up the developmental works, added Badal. Badal during his visit in Amritsar South Constituency ward no. 39 to hold Sangat Darshan programme in view for future by-election on Municipal Councilor seat which fell vacant after the resignation of Inderbir Singh Buloria who was elected MLA from Amritsar South Constituency. He further said that schemes of developmental programme worth Rs. 1000 crore in pipe line which would be completed within next 2 years, Punjab Government already sent Rs. 100 crore to Amritsar city for its development. Badal mentioned that the holy city of Amritsar would be soon development as one of the most development cities in the world as it has a tremendous potential for religious tourism but at the same time it could be developed as the most preferred destination medical tourism being an upcoming medical hub in South East Asia. He said that Sri Guru Nanak Dev Hospital would be given face lift by adding new blocks to existing once, installing new medical equipment and strengthening of manpower to provide World Class Medical facilities to the patients. He further said that Government of India has sanction a Centre University to be set up at holy city Amritsar its need is 700 acres land which would be provided by the state Government. After going through the problems of the ward no. 39 people Badal sanctioned schemes of Rs. 1.50 crore out of which Rs. 1.20 crore would be granted by Punjab Government and remaining share would be spent by the Municipal Corporation Amritsar. |
