FATEHGARH SAHIB: A team of Vigilance Bureau led by its Fatehgarh Sahib unit DSP Jaspal Singh Haans Friday arrested Khamano SDM's Reader Baldev Singh. A case under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act was registered against the Reader.

As per reports, the Bureau received a complaint from Harbhajan Singh, a resident of village Gagarwal, who alleged that the Reader demanded Rs 20,000 from him to settle case of an  'intkal'(sale deed) but finally a deal was struck to pay Rs 5,000. Harbhajan Singh informed the Vigilance Bureau and acting on the complaint, a team of Vigilance Bureau sleuths laid a trap and arrested in Reader red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 in presence of witnesses Amrik Singh of village Gaggarwal, Rajinder Singh of Excise and Taxation Department,  Rajinder Singh of Animal Husbandry Department.
