AMRITSAR: As many as 490 Sikh devotees went to Pakistan through the Samjhauta Express train here Sunday to observe the death anniversary of fifth Sikh Guru (master) Arjan Dev.
Sikh devotees have been sent to Pakistan by the Shriomani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) led by SGPC member Ragubir Singh.
During their stay in Pakistan Sikh devotees would visit and pay obeisance at various Sikh shrines at different provinces of Pakistan and they would return to Indian on June 17, said SGPC secretary Harbeant Singh.
According the international Attari Railway Station, today there was special train was sent to Pakistan to facilities the Sikh devotees.
Railway Authorities said that nearly one thousand Sikh devotees were granted visa to visit Pakistan and today hardly 490 went to Pakistan and rest of the devotees would be sent to Pakistan tomorrow through the Samjhauta Express.
