AMRITSAR : Khalsa Action Committee (KAC) demanded immediate arrest of Dera chief Ram Rahim Singh and his body guards for allegedly murdering the Mumbai based Sikh Balkar Singh.
In a joint statement Issued here today Bhai Mohkam Singh, Kanwar Pal Singh and Manjit Singh Calcutta said nothing less than the arrest of Dera chief would pacify the Sikhs. Trio In a joint statement demanded that a case under Section 302 should be lodged against dera chief for conspiring the killing of Balkar Singh. Commenting on the provocative statement of Shiv Sena head Bal Thackery that if Marathas would rise there will be a big disaster for Sikhs, the office bearers of the Khalsa Action Committee said without understanding the genesis of the problem and without realizing the concern of the Sikh people, Bal Thackery has gone overboard. "Thackery and others should take the pain and agony of the Sikh people into account before dubbing them 'trouble-makers'. However, they clarified that Sikhs were committed to maintain peace and harmony where ever they reside. Coming down heavily on Congress led Haryana government for encouraging and patronizing the dera head, they said both the governments were playing with fire. "Why is the Baba being given VIP treatment when already three criminal cases including that of rape and murder are pending against him, they quipped". They ridicule that despite criminal charges against him, the Dera chief was being allowed to use red beacon on the top of his vehicle and take his gunmen inside the court," they asserted. They said instead of nailing the pseudo-saint, the Haryana police has provided all-India licenses to his private bodyguards apart from giving Z-security cover to him. Providing all India-licenses to the private bodyguards of a person who is enjoying Z-plus security cover is a sheer violation of the law". Demanding withdrawal of Z-security and licenses, they squarely blamed Congress for promoting and encouraging gurudom to divide the Sikhs. "The wounds of the Sikhs are simmering and the state was acting in prejudice". The leaders of the KAC warned the governments of Central, Haryana and Punjab for testing the patience of the Sikhs. Reminding the era of 1978 when neo-Nirankaris massacred 13 Sikhs that plunged Punjab into turmoil, he said the government is hell bent to push the Sikhs towards the wall.
