FATEHGARH SAHIB: Punjab government Friday arranged free counseling for brilliant students at Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib.
It was for the students of +2 of Science, Commerce and Arts stream, who had secured 60 per cent or more marks and the camp, was held with the coordination of District Education Officer (Secondary). Fatehgarh Sahib Deputy Commissioner Ashok Singla, who also attended the camp, informed that district administration will bear expenses on further study of a needy girl Karamjit Kaur, a student of +2 of Government Senior Secondary School, Taddha Badha, who had secured 80 per cent marks. In his address, the DC said that the students should get admission in job orientated courses. Dr Manjit Singh, Dean (Colleges), Punjabi University, Patiala informed the students about various job oriented courses. Eminent Educationist and Director Education, SGPC Dr Gurmohan Singh Walia shared his experience with students. He said that the students should sincerely dedicate towards study to get best result. Dr Walia, who is also presently serving as principal of Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib said that a large number of job oriented courses have started in the college to benefit the students of rural area particularly. Jasdev Singh, Bhagwant Singh, Surinder Singh also expressed their views.
