CHANDIGARH:  Students leader Sukhdev Kundu has been elected chairman of Indian National Students Organisation (INSO)'s PU campus unit. Deepak Hooda has been re-elected president of campus unit. The election was held in an INSO executive meeting.

Kundu is a senior research fellow student with Environment Science Department of Panjab University. He was earlier convenor of Research Scholar wing of INSO. He is also actively associated with various social organisation working for female foeticide, AIDS awareness, popularisation of sciences among students. He has been instrumental in taking up various students' problems of research students like separate hostels for scholars, timely release of CSIR/UGC fellowships during tenure at his earlier assignment.

While congratulating the INSO student's activists for last year's sterling performance, Kundu said that INSO not only restrained PU authorities from increasing annual 10% fee hike but also got fee rationalised for different colleges of PU.

 Explaining his objectives as INSO Chairman, he said that INSO would continue to strive for bringing a positive change in the educational environment of PU. He said that he would fight for students cause to the best of his ability so as to come up to students' expectations & aspirations.
