PATIALA: PCC president Rajinder Kaur Bhattal said the affairs of Punjab congress was not discussed with external affairs minister Pranab Mukherjee during his visit to Amritsar on Friday.
Pranab Mukherjee, Union External Affairs Minister and chairman of three member committee of AICC to resolve Punjab affaires, has cut short his visit to Amritasr as he was the main negotiator of UPA government with CPM on nuclear deal, said Bhattal. Earlier there were reports that he has showed his inclination to meet Punjab leaders either in Delhi or on his visit to Punjab on June 28. But due to hectic political compulsions in New Delhi he has cut short his visit. Regarding any post will be given to Capt. Amarinder Singh in view of Antony committee's report she said that it AICC high command and its president Sonia Gandhi to decide the issue. The A K Antony panel has recommended one man one post in Congress. She however said that there was the possibility to reorganize the frontal organizations of congress in the state including Youth congress. She however remained silent on former chief minister Capt. Amarinder Singh and did not speak any word against him. |
