CHANDIGARH: Daljit Singh Bittu Chairman of Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar(Panch Pardhani) Wednesday announced that his parity would start an indefinite hunger strike in front of Parliament in New Delhi from July 20 to seek arrest of dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh, returning of material taken by CBI from Sikh reference library during operation blue star and amending  article 25(2)(B) of constitution to give Sikhs a separate identity.

Bitu told newsmen that they would hold prayer at Akal Takht on Julu 19 before proceeding for Delhi. He appealed Sikhs from whole state to reach Akal Takht and support the hunger strike. He said that dera chief was responsible for killing innocent Sikhs. He wondered that why center and state government were supporting dera head who is involved in several cases of rape and murder. It was big conspiracy against Sikhs, he alleged.

He further said that former defence minister George Fernandes had accepted that army had seized bags of documents from Sikh reference library during operation blue star. He said that the documents included hand written holy scriptures and valuable references of Sikh history. He said that all the material seized by army, now in custody of CBI should be returned. He said that it was an attempt to eliminate the existence of Sikh religion.

Regarding amendment in article 25(2)(B) of Indian constitution, Bittu said that Sikhs were clubbed with Hindus and an amendment in the act is must. He demanded to include the word Sikh in the constitution.

Bittu said that his party would also launch an awareness campaign from August 1 all over the Punjab to let people know the facts about Punjab. He said that natural resources, development and environment all face destruction.
