AMRITSAR: Family members of Ram Parkash son of Diwan Chand today spent the whole day in the scorching heat at Indo-Pak Attari Border in his wait but in the evening family returned with disappoint. Family members were not allowed to go nearer to border as they were kept at distance.
It may be mentioned here that yesterday, Indian national Ram Prakash (51), who was arrested by Pakistani authorities a decade ago on charges of spying, was brought at Indo-Pak Attari Border by the Pakistan Authority for repatriation but Indian Authority refused to accept him due to lack of identification and other requisite traveling documents. Ram Parkash was released from the Kotlakhpat jail of Lahore in Pakistan on Tuesday after completing his prison term following the orders of the interior ministry of Pakistan after he completed his 10-year prison term. Deepak Kumar son, two brothers Rampal and Rajan Sharma of Ram Parkash who were here today from ward number 9, Kacha Talab in Jammu said that Ram Parkash had crossed the international border to Pakistan in June 14, 1997 and after nine months a letter from Kotlakhpat jail was received which informed about his detention. Authorities at Attari border informed that Ram Parkash could be handed over to Indian probably on July 5.
