CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Inter-district cricket tournaments in the age groups U-16, U-19, U-22 and seniors commenced Sunday with the first round of matches of the U-22 tournaments and would conclude on August 10 with the final of the U-16 tournament.

The matches will be played at different venues in Haryana and Chandigarh. This was stated by Anirudh Chaudhary, the official spokesperson of the Haryana Cricket Association. He informed the media that a pool of players would be chosen in each age group based on the talent on display in the inter district tournaments. It is from amongst these player pools that the Haryana cricket teams in various age groups would be selected to take part in the inter state tournaments to be conducted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

He said that talent scouts of the Haryana Cricket Association will be watching matches randomly before the quarterfinal stage but will be present for all matches from the quarterfinal stage in all age groups.
