CHANDIGARH: The people of Punjab have been curiosuly watching the role of Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) MP's during the trust vote in Parliament on Tuesday, considering the fact that SAD and BJP its alliance partner in Punjab have been supporting the setting up of nuclear plant in the state.

So far so when the debate on trust motion over nuclear issue was going on in the Parliament, the state BJP president Rajinder Bhandari on Monday spoke in favour of setting up of nuclear plant. The statement of Bhandari is significant in wake of BJP's stand against the nuclear deal at national level.

Bhandari in Mandi Gobindgarh said that  there was urgent need of setting up a nuclear power plant in the state to  make Punjab free from power shortage. He said the plant will not only  fulfill power requirement of the state but it will also produce surplus  power.

The SAD MP's have been facing lot of moral pressure from PPCC and Sikh radical groups to support the Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh on the nuclear issue. Even seior leader of AICC in Delhi hoped that Akali MP's may abstain from the house to help Government to survive. The reports were however denied by the SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal. Some reports suggested that party MP's had tried to persue Badal to support Dr.Manmohan Singh being first Sikh Prime Minister since Sikhs would not spare Akalis for opposing the Sikh PM.

When the trust vote begins on Tuesday, all eye would be on Akali MP's. At least the people of Punjab are waiting curiously.
